How Domestic Trafficking Works and How to Intervene: The Experiences of 20 Trafficked Children in Toledo.

Abstract

The presenter will provide findings from a study of 20 trafficked children in Lucas County, including the trauma they faced, family life, and experiences with trafficking. Also presented will be the ways in which domestic child sex trafficking works, recruitment techniques, who is vulnerable to trafficking, and the players involved. A discussion on the importance of establishing safe houses for child trafficking victims instead of incarceration in detentions centers will be discussed.
