Role of ICE in Human Trafficking Investigations

Abstract

The presentation will outline the overall mission of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as it relates to Human Trafficking investigations. ICE is committed to preventing the smuggling and trafficking of persons through initiatives, tools and resources that effectively impact organizations engaged in these practices.

The presentation will discuss the difference between human smuggling and human trafficking. The presentation will show the commitment of ICE towards combating human trafficking and prosecuting violators of these offenses. The presentation will demonstrate the role of the agency and its victim centered approach to these investigations. ICE is dedicated to developing and maintaining a strong working relationship with non-governmental organizations, fellow law enforcement agencies and others involved with human trafficking.
