Human Trafficking 101: The Basics of Human Trafficking in the United States

Abstract

This presentation is for those interested in learning about human trafficking in the United States. The presenters will define human trafficking, describe transnational and domestic trafficking, the scope of trafficking in the United States and myths and realities about human trafficking. They will explain the Trafficking Victims Protection Act and the United Nations Protocol to Prevent, Suppress, and Punish Trafficking in Persons Especially Women and Children. Additionally, they will explain victim identification in the United States and how to identify and understand victims of human trafficking.
