Contemporary Case Studies in a 30-year old Treatment Program in Transition; The Mary Magdalene Project

Abstract

Since his arrival in 2003 (first as a consultant) and his eventual position as Executive Director in January 2004, Dr. McCombs and Program Directors Donna Hernandez (2005-2008) and Dianne Amato (March, 2008 - currently) in concert with clinical program staff, former residents, graduates, and board members have been collaborating to update and apply scientific behavior-change principles to a longstanding treatment program specific to female prostitutes. Against this background of transition, services creating change for female prostitutes seeking to leave prostitution permanently have continued.

The presenters will seek to illuminate the treatment and programmatic transitions by characterizing the treatment plans and outcomes of three separate clients. Details of analyzing variables used in services and programs around the globe in other existing treatment programs, challenges in funding, and the ultimate programming commitments established for The Mary Magdalene Project of the 21st Century will be shared.

Case studies, issues of transitions from Founders Syndrome, Questions and answer period will be included.
